When in Doubt, Paint it ~

My Mom bought these candlesticks awhile back for $8.99 each. I was drooling love the fleur de lis but the red was a little iffy...

So I grabbed a little paint and decided to paint them black. As they were drying (I somehow forgot to snap a photo) I went for the candles.

I found these in the of the cupboard just waiting to get a new color.

I must say this is the first time I have actually painted a candle, and I loved it. I painted them with gold craft paint first and then applied a layer of black acrylic - so the gold is just barely peaking through the cracks.

And here are my new candle holders with their new candles.

I just love them! I think these may make their way into our Master Bedroom makeover, but for now we can all enjoy them in the family room.
