Another Refinishing Project Coming Soon ~

Here is a table my neighbors were giving away for free -

I like the size the shape - ah and the detail.
I am thinking maybe a black finish with a little bronze distressing - any ideas? I have no idea where it is going to go, but I just couldn't turn it down!

I am also in the process of refinishing a kitchen table  - and I must say, I have a new appreciation for all of you who do this as well as you do, it is a lot of work!

Goodwill Finds ~

My Mom and I hit one of the Seattle Goodwills last Friday and I was so excited about our boopie finds!

We found 5 more pieces to add to my - I guess - collection. So of course I had to Google these guys and here is what I found. The Berwick pattern, commonly referred to as "Boopie" was manufactured by Anchor Hocking from the 1950s to the 1970s. It came in Forest Green, Royal Ruby, Amber and Crystal. You can purchase them online for about 4-10 bucks per glass - but at Goodwill these babies are just .69 cents! I just love the base:

I also picked up a few books - these are great for stacking these all over the house.

And this little box for $1.99 - also loved the feet and details on this one.
So hold me back, apparently I have a thing for the "boopie"!

Goodwill Tray ~

I recently picked up this tray at Goodwill for $2.99 - yes, $2.99. I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to do with it.

I thought maybe the on the counter in our master bath, maybe filled with odds and ends in my craft room - or here in the kitchen.

Here is what I had before:

I was thinking this was pretty good. I liked the container and I loved that it all had a "place" (I know I am a little crazy like that). But this looks so much better -

That little Herbs of Provence is actually my salt jar. We don't use a ton of salt when cooking, but when grilling and sauteing veggies we tend to turn to sea salt for a little extra favor.

I love the details on the tray - my hubby thinks it looks a bit like Grandma's house, but I likey!

Oh, how I love this little dish.

So for $2.99, I am thrilled with my new tray for kitchen -

My Stripped Table is Stained ~

I have been meaning to show you guys my recently stained table after my first stripping experience. Remember this guy I picked up for $14.99 -

It was super shiny and the top was hammered. After stripping, I was thrilled with the results.

I then had to decide to paint or stain - now I usually would go straight for the black paint, but I am trying to make sure that not everything in my house is black...so I grabbed these -

I started with the Antique Walnut, but wanted it to be a bit darker. So once dry, I applied the Bombay Mahogany. And here it is -

I must say, I think I would like it a bit darker still.

And truly, I would love to see it black - hold me back!

(And I have been on the hunt for the perfect table lamp for this table).

Do you see that fabulous vase?

It is from Kris at Cafe Couture - she was one of the vendors at the Spring Soiree - I just love the vase! And the lovely roses from Mother's Day (thanks Chris and DeeDee).

So for now it will stay stained, but who knows what the future will hold!

Just Relaxing ~

We finally got some great weather here in the Pacific Northwest. So we decided to head off to the cabin this weekend for some fun in the sun...my "to-do" list just keeps getting longer, but putting it all on hold is so nice sometimes!

I hope you all had a great weekend!
