Turquoise to Super Bowl ~

Since my sister's shower was Saturday and Super Bowl was Sunday, I decided to work with what I already had. Who says you can't do footballs and crystals together? (well my husband was one!)

So I took down the turquoise and up went the gold and black - Way to go Saints!

And I added some footballs and words go hang with the "not-so-football-crystals"

I picked up this platter at the Party Store and decided it made a better decoration than serving piece.

And who can pass up a football napkin - I mean come on?

And my darling hubby put together a couple of games for the fans to play.

And after eating all of the healthy yummy football food, we continued down that path with dessert! And yes, I made more cupcakes - when in doubt, make cupcakes!

Congrats to the Saints!

Turquoise Shower ~

This past weekend we threw a shower for my sister at my house. Her primary color for her upcoming ceremony is turquoise, so off I went! Give the dog a bone right? Although I am happy to say, that for the decorating, all that I actually went out and bought were the balloons - not bad.

You might be asking yourself "What is that hanging over the counter?" Well it is indeed a stick...straight from my backyard.

My neighbors might think I have lost my mind, but I dug around to find just the right one - size actually does matter here - and I attached it with a few "S" hooks.

Then I started hanging lanterns, crystals, ribbon and a few words for the happy couple.

And for the dessert - we made cupcakes and displayed them on a cake stand that was actually one of their gifts - just putting it to good use!

Here is one of my latest cake stands made from a plate and candle holder

I love the large sprinkles on top - they seemed to almost shimmer.

And of course no party is complete without the amazing cake cookies...

And a few other little details...

And tomorrow I will show you how I switched from Shower to Super Bowl!

Do you decorate for Super Bowl? I like to just gather up all of the footballs in the house - maybe clean them off first - and display them with all the completely unhealthy yummy appetizers.

I want to thank Sunshine's Design and Veronica at Everyday Kings for recently awarding me the Sunshine Award! And RM at A Day in the Life for nominating me for the Kreativ Blogger Award.  I always love to receive awards from fellow bloggers - thank you ladies for making me smile!

May you all have wonderful weekend!

Key to My Heart ~

I had a few items laying around the house and decided to make a little Valentine's Day display.

I picked this book up at Goodwill for $2. It is from 1912!

I had these keys...

Decided to make a tag...

And throw it all together on top of a little mirror...

I just love how it all came together!
