Here is a table my neighbors were giving away for free -
I like the size the shape - ah and the detail.
I am thinking maybe a black finish with a little bronze distressing - any ideas? I have no idea where it is going to go, but I just couldn't turn it down!
I am also in the process of refinishing a kitchen table - and I must say, I have a new appreciation for all of you who do this as well as you do, it is a lot of work!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great shape, Chelsea! I had a client once that had a desk just like that in a dark stain, and when she moved she had a decorative painter that I use, come in to do her hutch and the desk. It really gave that desk new life to bring it out of the "dark" ages.

ReplyDeleteI would paint it black - no distressing. Then I would have a piece of glass cut to the shape of the top. Then I would arrange old family photos(b&w and sepia),documents/letters/sheet music and other memorabelia under the glass. Voila - the coolest *shadow box* ever.
