Remember this guy...

Well the car got a paint job...

and then the tires got changed out and the whole thing got "antiqued".

The gel stain was drying a bit too quickly, and it ended up too dark. What can I say - you win some, you lose some. This would be in the loss column. All this canvas needs now is a bit of gesso to become something completely new and better.
Now I am thinking something like this...

I love this! Did you buy the picture or did you make the whole thing yourself?
cute ideas!
This looks great. Great idea!
I was awarded an Honest Scrap Award today and I am awarding it to 7 other bloggers ~ you are one of them! I did a post about it on my blog so you can see the basic lay-out. Not sure if you've received this award yet or not...but I enjoy your blog and would like to pass the award on to you!
I did create this painting. I took one of my son's favorite matchbox cars and traced the silhouette. I then enlarged the image and started painting. I must say the "idea" of the finished product was a little different that the actual painting. That said, I still might try and "fix" the painting by lightening up a the brown colors. We will see...
