I have had this basket forever - really.
I decided it was time for a little change. I started by grabbing some Rust-oleum Gray spry paint -
I then dry brushed on a little white acrylic paint to give it a white-washed look.
Now onto stencils. I decided to stencil 0715 - it is our wedding date, I know, so cute right?
I then gave each side a light sand.
I think it might hold my overflow of magazines as soon as I sort through them. For now it will simply sit in the corner of our great room area...
I just picked up the books (boxes) at Micheal's today for 30% off!
I love how they look and just think of all of the stuff I can forget about store in there!
So if you have that basket laying around you are about to donate, try giving it a little makeover- you might fall in love with it all over again!

What a great idea! It looks so fancy and expensive.
Very nice! I have a few baskets I could do this with. Love the anniversary date...pretty close to mine (7/25)...so I know what mine would look like :)
Just perfect :0) I adore how this turned out and looks amazing next to that black stand.
Chelsea,
Great makeover! I especially love that you used your wedding date, so sweet. Currently I am making over a basket (by accident). I rinsed off a dusty basket and forgot that I set it oustide to dry after a couple days it started getting a wonderful patina, we'll see what happens...
Best wishes,
Tammy
I just love it! I am bookmarking into my project file!!! It looks so natural!
Very cute!
I like the look!
Oh wow, Chelsea!! This is simply darling and I love the worn look. The decor you added inside just wraps it up for the perfect statement!!! Love it girl :D

The wedding date really sets the cutness metter off on that!
I love it!
That turned out so cute. I think I have a basket or two that could use that makeover.

Love baskets, and yours turned out fabulous. I love the color and the numbers. Too cute. I keep all my baskets, they are always great to redo. Hugs, Marty
Oh My Perfect! My anniversary is next week and while I have done stuff with the year, I haven't with the actual date. Genius!
I love how this project turned out. Just fabulous!
What a nice size basket, Chelsea! I have a basket in my living room to hold my magazines and I like its dark color. I actually have baskets all over the place, but I do have some that are very light and natural colored that I have been thinking of spray painting. I haven't done much spray painting because its been so humid here.
to think what I have given to goodwill!
neat project...
Wow, that turned out great, so classy!

What a gorgeous shape to that basket! And the new colour and embellishment is like it's meant to be. Beautifully good call!

That looks great, and I love the sentimental touch with your wedding date. I bet you were a beautiful summer bride!
