Napa Style Inspired Lazy Susan ~

I saw this great lazy susan in my latest Napa Style catalog -

I love this! I just love the rustic feel and the functionality. But the price tag is a bit high at $249.00. Now have I mentioned how much I enjoy Micheal Chiarello? Maybe for a later post...

So I have a bunch of spindles (thanks Gayle) and I was going to cut one down, sand it and get it prepped, until I laid eyes on a candlestick ($1.99) that I picked up at Goodwill awhile back. I also recently picked up  a lazy susan for $4.99 and a wood plate for $1.99.

I assembled them,

and played around a little bit,

and finally decided it will be a piece for my "new" craft room.

I like the Napa Style version for $249.00, but I LOVE my version for $9 bucks!

I love your version for $9.00 too! This is a wonderful repurposing of three items into one perfect lazy susan.

Great post! Wow! $9 spent on things you repurposed vs $249 on something that could possibly have been made in China. And in the process you saved at least 3 things from a a potential landfill. That's what I call an economic stimulus package. Outstanding!
We need more americans to think that way. Keep up the good work!

Yours is fabulous! Are you serious about the $249??? How could that be? Is it made of gold? Love your eye for putting things together.

Great job, you've inspired me! I think I'll keep my eye out for component that could make one of those. I'd love to pile it high with cheses and fruit. Of course a glass of red wine goes without saying!

Love it. I just bought a nice wooden lazy susan at the Goodwill for $2.00 and thought I would make an art caddy for my daughter, but I might like this better.
Great job!

How does a company justify a price that high to begin with.
Good for people like you who take the idea and show how simple it it to do it yourself.

So stinkin' cute!! My mom and her friend saw a lazy susan at a winery that was made out of wine barrel slats, complete with red wine stains and the stamp of the winery on it, for sale with a hefty price tag as well. My mom's friend came home and made us each one out of a salvaged wine barrel, complete with red wine stains and winery stamp on it, for pennies on the dollar, just like you did. It is a fab piece in my kitchen. I keep it next to my stove with my cooking oils and such on it.
