Yummy Greek ~

Recipe | Inspiration

Here is a Greek Chicken recipe that caught my eye from Martha Stewart.
It look perfect for Spring, so I thought I would share...

Ingredients

  • 1 pint cherry or grape tomatoes, halved
  • 1/3 cup pitted Kalamata olives
  • 4 ounces feta cheese, coarsely crumbled (1 cup)
  • 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • Coarse salt and ground pepper
  • 1 1/2 pounds thin chicken cutlets (about 8)

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine tomatoes, olives, feta, mint, and 1 tablespoon oil.
  2. Season with salt and pepper; set aside.
  3. Heat a grill pan over high; brush lightly with oil. Season cutlets with salt and pepper. Cook, working in batches as necessary, until chicken is cooked through, 1 to 2 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate, and cover with aluminum foil to keep warm. Top chicken with tomato mixture, and serve.

Cowboy and Cowgirl Party - Part 2 ~

Kids Birthday | Party Inspiration

So I thought I would post some of the details from the Cowboy Cowgirl Birthday Party.
It was a great theme! All the kiddos, both boys and girls, had a great time.

The dessert table was super fun to decorate - thanks Mom sooo much for helping!

My Mom made Rodeo S'More Pops - I mean really what cowboy party is complete without them?

They are super simple and they were such a hit!
I really had no idea how popular they would be.

To make these super easy dessert sticks, all you need is:
Graham Crackers, Melted Chocolate Chips, Large Marshmallows and Cake Pop Sticks.

We had City Slicker Suckers that each kiddos got to take home. When I bought these online I thought they would be much larger, but the size worked.

The white tulips were perfect for the color scheme and my Mom had a the great idea to add sticks to the vase for that "rustic look".

For the High Noon Saloon backdrop, I attached a large stick from my backyard.
(I have even used it here for a shower and here for a Superbowl party)
My Mom and I wrapped the stick with some burlap ribbon and lasso rope. Then added a few details in with the hat, bandana and printable.

And every great party needs a little ale...Lone Ranger Ale of course.

For the glasses I bought a couple packages of mason jars and purchased some red and white paper straws. And we only had one glass break - not bad!

To add to the "western" theme, we had a few moo-cow balloons hanging around.

The gift bags were super easy.
I simply used brown lunch bags and attached the label with a little jute.

I customized each thank you card by adding each kid's Wanted Poster shot and name.
Which turned out super cute!

All the hoodlums had fun.

And we enjoyed all the smiles.

Had to do it...

Cowboy and Cowgirl Birthday Party - Part 1~

Kids Birthday | Party Inspiration

My kiddos had their 6th Birthday party in January, and I am now finally posting the pics!
As many of you know, I have boy/girl twins, and as you can imagine joint parties are getting harder and harder to come up with a theme for both. But they were both on board and excited for Cowboy and Cowgirl...score!

My inspiration for the invites and the party printables came from Dixie Delights.
You can click here to see her super cute party.

The focal point was the dessert table...of course!

Of course no party is complete without our entertainer - my hubby!

He is always so great at the kiddos parties, you may remember these two...
 My handsome pirate.

And my brave superhero.

As the hoodlums entered the corral, they were to Cowboy Up with a hat and bandana.

And then off to the photo booth for their Wanted shot.

Then we were off to Roping the Steer and the Ring Toss.

There was some lasso practice for all who were feeling the urge.

And a Ring Toss to test the buckaroos aim.

As they completed the wild Ring Toss, it was onto the Paint Horse Stampede.

They all did such a great job.

We then moved into Branding the Kids - ha, gotta love it!
(of course my darling kiddos were tattooed up and down both arms)

We took a break for a little popcorn,

And then the cowboy/cowgirl charades began!
In hindsight the words were a bit too easy, but they had a great time none the less.

And what do cowboys and cowgirls do after all that hollerin'...
eat dessert of course!

After the dessert it was time for the book exchange (in lieu of gifts, we had each child bring a wrapped book - everyone brings a book and everyone leaves with a book).

We had them all sit in a circle holding a book, then we stared the music and asked them to start passing the books. Once the music stopped, the book they had in their hands was theirs!

Then it was time to say farewell to the fellow hoodlums.

Stay tuned for Part 2...the details!
