Halloween Decorating Part 1 ~

Holiday Decorating Inspiration

Halloween is officially right around the corner and I have started decorating. Today I will show you our family room - spookified!

Here is the shelf in our family room.

I had so much fun incorporating my everyday decor with a little spooky. Do you see the sticks? This is just the beginning of my new stick collection.

I just picked up this skull at a local thrift store for 4 bucks - I just love him stacked on the vintage books!

Here is one of my Dollar Tree projects that I showed your here, and the Toxic sign is also from the Dollar Tree. I simply painted it white and antiqued the edges a bit.

I downloaded this great images from The Graphics Fairy. I just crumpled up the paper and placed them in the vases.

And our mantel - do you see more of my new branch collection? I seriously hunted the greenbelt behind our house. My neighbors are now probably so used to seeing me between the trees - there she goes again! Then I spray painted all of the branches with flat black.

I needed a little filler, so I grabbed these guys.

And a final detail on the fireplace.

I am just tweaking the kitchen a little bit, but will show you shortly!

  20. You have such a knack for creating beautiful vignettes and your halloween ones are no exception. I got a lot of great ideas from your pictures. I really like the crumpled images in the glass vases....such a simple but really cool idea.
