I have been meaning to show you guys my recently stained table after my first stripping experience. Remember this guy I picked up for $14.99 -
It was super shiny and the top was hammered. After stripping, I was thrilled with the results.
I then had to decide to paint or stain - now I usually would go straight for the black paint, but I am trying to make sure that not everything in my house is black...so I grabbed these -
I started with the Antique Walnut, but wanted it to be a bit darker. So once dry, I applied the Bombay Mahogany. And here it is -
I must say, I think I would like it a bit darker still.
And truly, I would love to see it black - hold me back!
(And I have been on the hunt for the perfect table lamp for this table).
Do you see that fabulous vase?
It is from Kris at Cafe Couture - she was one of the vendors at the Spring Soiree - I just love the vase! And the lovely roses from Mother's Day (thanks Chris and DeeDee).
So for now it will stay stained, but who knows what the future will hold!

Very nice finish. I need to remember that everything does not need to be painted. Thanks for the reminder
ReplyDeleteIt turned out great, Chelsea! I know what you mean about the black ~ I'll bet even a white with some antiquing glaze would look good.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh about the black! I am the same way and have had to repaint things because I end up with too much black!!! The table looks great!! Adds some contrast! Great job!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! I love the color of the table and that vase with the roses is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower and just wanted to say hello.

Wow its beautiful. I really like the stain. Your like me, I'd usually pick black. But I'm trying not to do that anymore. The table is cute and looks perfect in your home.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE little black tables. I keep thinking I am going to lighten things up a bit and choose cream with an antiqued finish, we will see. It looks great as is but I like the idea of darkening it up a bit. That is the great things about stain!
ReplyDeleteThe vase is gorgeous, love it's simplicity!
Best wishes,
Tammy
LOVE the finish!! Came out great. If you dont mind me asking...where are those chairs from and whats the print? I LOVE them! I find it so hard to find upholstery in prints that arent tacky and I love these ones. Thanks!
ReplyDeletei think a darker stain would be great, but keep it wood - not everything needs paint. btw, i love the table :)
ReplyDeleteHow absolutely beautiful! I can't believe that it's the same piece of furniture. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteChelsea...I am the same way about the black furniture...I think it's an addiction! I have been trying to add in some other pieces as well...not having much luck!
ReplyDeleteYour table is GORGEOUS and I am loving your vase...I think I need one! The roses aren't bad either;)!
Happt Tuesday!
Cathy
You did a really beautiful job on that table. The wood looks like it is in great condition so I think you were smart not to paint it. I really love the lines and detail on the piece.
