Beam Me Up ~

I have been really lovin' exposed ceiling beams and coffered ceilings lately. Whether they are existing structural beams or added for detail, I just love look. I keep ripping out ideas and saving them in a box our dream house file. Here are a few images with exposed beams that make me want to build...

  1. This is great inspiration! I like seeing the exposed wood beams in other homes, but I don't think I would want them in my own home. Would love to have a painted coffered ceiling though.

  9. Chelsea:

Thanks for the images. What incredible spaces. The mix of the beams in interiors automatically gives that mixing "old with new" look that I ADORE.

    Thank you!

  11. We have nice high ceiling in our house and I would LOVE to have exposed beams. If I had unlimited time, money, and skill I would put in some faux beams. But for now I'll just enjoy the great photos!

  15. Love all these photos! I got an estimate for installing 3 beams in my morning room....$7000. As much as I would love them that is a huge amount of money. I'll just keep dreaming.
