I picked up three of these trees at the Dollar Tree a few weeks ago.
And I kept thinking - man these babies are bright. And then I saw Alyshia over at Let it Shine glazed hers and they looked great. So, I grabbed my Metallic Paint and rubbed on - rubbed off.
Then I painted these "knobs" gold...
Added a little Spanish moss, some sticks and stuff and whaala -
I added this project to DIY Day over at A Soft Place To Land.

Beautiful!!
I love your candlesticks!!
how cute! gotta love dollar tree!
These look fabulous!! Very Elegant! I am going to have to go and see if they have any left. Everything is so picked over now.
And yes, the cloche I have with the present under it is the terrarium one! I just love it! I went back and bought two more to give as gifts! Thanks for the tip!
Have a great day!
Lou Cinda :)
this is BRILLIANT! (no pun intended)
ooooh, aaah, where did you get the fleur de lis? so, so pretty!
I passed those by because I thought they were too shiny looking, but I love how you did the glaze on them, Chelsea. They look so much better! Love the knob at the top ~ that alone adds to them, but the fleur de lis is the cherry on top!
Love your blog, love your candelstics but please, the word is voila not whaala.
Wow! What a great transformation. And I love the big bows on the candle sticks!
Sincerely ~ Tricia Anne

You are a clever little thing!!
Oh wow! They are beautiful! Where did you find the fleur de lis that added to the trees?
So pretty! Love the idea of rubbing them to reduce the shine, thanks for sharing the tip!
Best wishes,
Tammy
This is so pretty and elegant. I love the toned down look.
Cute! I kept seeing these at Dollar Tree and thinking they'd be great for something but I didn't know what. Now I know!
Those look terrific! I saw them at the DT and thought the same thing - too bright. I wished I would have thought of glazing them then because I think they are sold out of that store now, I will have to check out some of the others.
They look great! I love how you embellished them! You are just so creative!!
Omigosh this is SUCH a great idea! I cannot wait to try this. I will have to bookmark this post so I don't lose it. Thanks Chelsea!
Those are so pretty! You really do a wonderful job at taking the normal, blah, or ugly and make it your style. You are very talented.

These are gorgeous! I like them so much better after you changed them. They look so pretty with the gold against the wood.
I love that you saw something at the Dollar store and changed it into something expensive looking!
