Decorating with Branches Halloween Style ~

I just love branches - that sounds weird - but I just love the natural look...and I love how perfectly spooky they can be this time of year.

Look at this super fun entryway...

I really like the simplicity of this Halloween tree.

But if you are into a bit more bling, you can load it up!

The webs are fantastic with the branches here.

This might be a bit too large, but I love the idea.

Here they add the perfect texture to the door and container arrangements.

Can you guess what I am up to today? Yep, I am off to find myself that perfect branch!

Kids Ghost Project ~

Kids | Craft Inspiration

My kiddos wanted to make ghosts this week - so I grabbed a few materials and let the spooky fun begin! I definitely didn't reinvent the wheel with this project, but the kids had a great time.

We started by laying out our postal wrapping paper (any paper would work) and scrunching them into balls (yes, scrunching is a technical term for making a ball and squeezing it really hard).

We then stuck our chopsticks into the center of each ball. We glued and taped the sticks into place.

Then more scrunching of the tissue paper this time.

We rolled out our tissue paper and started to assemble our ghosts.

Now it was time to dress these guys up. We added some very nice burlap scarves.

But to spook them up a bit, I pulled out the vertical pieces of the burlap.

Bring on the buttons! It was fun to watch the kiddos pick through all of the buttons to find just the right ones. Then we glued them on to complete our project.

I just love how they each have their own personalities!

My kiddos have been flying them around the house - and are very proud of their Halloween creations!

I decided to add a bit of bling to mine...I mean, why not?

Be Inspired Showcase ~

Today Sarah from Citified Country Girl is showing off her very chic rustic sunburst mirror.

Se collected the materials on a camping trip - I love that there is a story behind the twigs themselves.

The natural woods add so much character...

This is a super creative take on the "sunburst" mirror. And just think, you can have a lovely mirror that holds a memory from a great weekend!

I will start this post reminding all of you how much a dislike candy corn - I know, you are probably thinking, who doesn't like candy corn? Me! Now as much as I dislike it, it does scream Halloween to me. And I know others like it, so I have come up with a fun way to display the awful treat.

I started with this Jiffy Pots from Home Depot - they were $1.99 for 26.

I then grabbed a pedestal...

Added this broken clock face to the top...

I had a few left over black RedVines. So I cut them in half and added a spooky black crow to top them off.

I then filled the Jiffy Pots with candy corn and a few skeleton hands for a little more spookiness. I decided to keep the pots simple, but you could easily add some ribbon, paper or even a little bling to embellish them.

And to complete the display, I added a few sticks from my backyard.

Even though I won't be eating any of these holiday favorites, I can't wait to display them for Halloween!
